    Thank you for sharing with me your love of music. As a child, I did not understand, but now I see what true love for your craft is, and that was you. You lived and breathed music, and only wanted to share that with everyone you touched.

    Thank you for your patience and encouragement. Even though I was such a lazy student, you always saw my potential and worked to cultivate that, never giving up on me. And you always bragged that I was one of your best students (I think you meant April). :)

    Thank you for your kindness towards me and my family. My father only told me more recently that you refused to let me stop my piano lessons on the grounds of temporary financial difficulties; you trusted us and allowed us to repay you later on.

    Thank you for coming down to Houston for April's wedding. I was able to bond with you as an adult for the first time, and it was wonderful.

    Thank you for loving me just as you did each one of your students - with all your heart and soul.
